Since establishing our VAN HAM office in Hamburg in 2010, the art market has continued to expand and attract new and diverse clients. VAN HAM is proud to be market leader and expand its presence in Hamburg. Since 2021, our Hamburg representative Dr. Katrin Stangenberg has also been serving our customers in and around Berlin.
After completing doctoral studies, she worked for eleven years as an independent consultant, lecturer, and author. She has been a board member of the Friends of the Hamburg Kunsthalle since 2004. The organization boasts over 18,000 members, making it the largest member program among German museums. In 2011, Dr. Stangenberg founded Paliang GmbH & Co. KG, which produces porcelain objects designed by Dr. Stangenberg herself in Jingdezhen, the world’s oldest porcelain production center. She expanded her passion for contemporary art through further studies at the University of Hamburg. She is co-founder of the federal initiative »Young Friends of Art Museums« and established the organization »Collecting Friends« in 2012.
Dr. Stangenberg is pleased to provide consultation on all aspects of the auction process and in all categories of art. The forthcoming auction season will feature several specialist days and previews in Hamburg. Dr. Stangenberg looks forward to welcoming you.
