International Impressionism

Successful marketing of impressionist masterpieces

In the last two decades, VAN HAM distinguished itself in Germany by successfully marketing works of French, but also international Impressionism. This is now one of the most popular and sought-after art movements: Numerous museum exhibitions are dedicated to the artists grouped under this designation. Claude Monet, Édouard Manet, Edgar Degas, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Gustave Loiseau, but also Federico Zandomeneghi and Medardo Rosso are all well-known names in international art history. The secret of their success lies in the rediscovery of landscape painting and painting "en plein air", i.e. in the open air. The main representatives at VAN HAM were Paul Gauguin, Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Isaac Israels. Works by Lovis Corinth, Max Liebermann, Max Slevogt, Robert Sterl, Alexander Koester, Franz Skarbina, Leo Putz and late works by Heinrich von Zügel also repeatedly achieved top prices in recent years.
