VAN HAM Art Auctioneers is pleased to present the first crossover ONLINE ONLY auction "GOLD".

For this curated sale, our experts have collected works in line with the mystical term GOLD, which explore the subject, the material and the craft from different perspectives.

The offer ranges from jewelry made of the precious metal to objects shimmering in gold such as a vermeil construction helmet by the British luxury retailer Asprey & Co London, fire gilded pendulum clocks or gilt porcelain.

Sacral objects such as Buddha figures represent the connection of the precious metal to the aura of the divine.

Also works of modern and contemporary artists, such as the work "Goldhase" by Joseph Beuys or "SNOB" by Rosi Steinbach, show the omnipresence of the symbolic material.

Within the scope of this curated auction, the artist Walter Bruno Brix (1965) agreed to donate a golden mask (lot 47), which he especially designed for this purpose and which will be auctioned in favour of the AKTION MURMELTIER - Zeit für Kinder e.V.

The charitable association  Aktion Murmeltier, Zeit für Kinder e.V. (Project marmot, Time for Children) has set itself the task, to support children and young people from cologne in need.

Among other things, it finances school meals, a wide range of learning and leisure activities, as well as therapy sessions.
