2105 VAJRADHARA IN YAB-YUM. VAJRADHARA IN YAB YUM. China. Qing Dynasty. Greenish gray nephrite jade with brownish and dark inclusions. In front of a mandorla sitting on a lotus, the Adibuddha embraces his shakti Bhagavani. He is holding a vajra and a gantha bell in hands, she holds a katrika chopper up and a kapala bowl behind him. Both are wearing jewelry crowns with flowers. Above his head is floating a small lotus with Buddha Shakyamuni. Vajradhara is considered the original Buddha of most schools and as the principle of perfect enlightenment, Buddha Shakyamuni is his karmic manifestation. Height 18cm. Condition A/B.
