2096 LONG HANGING SCROLL. LANGE HÄNGEROLLE. China. Qing Dynasty. Powerful colors and ink on paper. In a continuous mountain landscape, different scenes are illustrated. A Buddhist saint in conversation with a scholar, the poet and painter Mi Fu, reverently bowing before a rock, since he regarded stones as equals, as well as a scholar on a cart, and an immortal among rocks. Length 435cm, width 34cm. Exterior inscribed, part of a series or a pair. Condition B. Provenance: -Private collection Northern Germany. KAISERLICHER ERLASS. China. Qing Dynasty, Tongzi period. Cyclically dated: Tongzi shi san nian = 1874. Silk with woven motifs, lined on paper. Longer inscriptions with ink and metal color, with imperial seal. The decret of an elevation in rank was written from left in Chinese and from right in Manchurian script. On both sides the characters ‘fengtian Gaoming’ - ‘On heavenly command’, flanked by a pair of dragons. In the center two large imperial seals with the name of the beneficiary: Lin Zhengfang and the dating. 32.5 x 322cm. Condition B/C. Provenance: -Private collection Northern Germany.
