Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara standing in tribhanga as holder of the lotus on a small lotus base. The right hand in abhaya mudra, the left holding a lotus flower. Base closed. Height 17cm. Copper bronze with fire-gilding and pigments. Standing in tribhanga on a double lotus pedestal. The right hand in varada mudra, the left hand holding a blooming lotus. The hair tied up to a high ushnisha and adorned, some loose strands of hair falling in curls on his shoulder. He is wearing Bodhisattva jewelry and a multi-leaved crown. Bottom sealed. Height 18cm. Tibet. 19th c. Heavy copper bronze with fire-gilding, pigments, and inlaid stones. With semiwrathful face seated on a lotus pedestal in raja lalitasana. The right hand resting on his knee, in his left he is holding a kapala (skull cup). Removable khatvanga leaning against his left shoulder. A tiger skin around his hips, his body adorned with jewelry of a Mahasiddha and skull crown. Bottom sealed. Very rare depiction of Padmasambhava in his manifestation as Guru Nyima Oser (“Rays of the sun”). Height 19cm. Condition A/B. Provenance: -Private collection.
