The hair tied up to a high ushnisha and adorned, some loose strands of hair falling in curls on his shoulder. He is wearing Bodhisattva jewelry and a multi-leaved crown. Bottom sealed. Height 18cm. Tibet. 19th c. Heavy copper bronze with fire-gilding, pigments, and inlaid stones. With semiwrathful face seated on a lotus pedestal in raja lalitasana. The right hand resting on his knee, in his left he is holding a kapala (skull cup). Removable khatvanga leaning against his left shoulder. A tiger skin around his hips, his body adorned with jewelry of a Mahasiddha and skull crown. Bottom sealed. Very rare depiction of Padmasambhava in his manifestation as Guru Nyima Oser (“Rays of the sun”). Height 19cm. Condition A/B. Provenance: -Private collection.
