Elfenbein, sehr fein und detailliert geschnitzt, das Fell fein graviert und dunkel akzentuiert, die Augen mit Pupille eingelegt aus schwarzem Horn. Das Tier sitzt mit geöffnetem Maul, die rechte Vordertatze ruht auf dem Schenkel eines erlegten Hirsches. L.4,5cm. Sign.: Okanobu auf rechteckiger Reserve, Schüler des Okatomo. MCI spricht von nur 3 bekannten Stücken, dieses wäre das vierte, das der Qualität seines Lehrers sehr nahe kommt. Zustand A. NETSUKE: SQUATTING WOLF. Japan. Edo Period. Early 19th c. The animal is sitting with opened mouth, resting its right frontpaw on the thigh of a slain deer. L.4,5cm. Sign.: Okanobu on rectangular reserve, student of Okatomo.
