The unusual display of the Bodhisattva with eleven heads and twelve arms is probably following his appearance as Ekâdasha-mahâkarunika Lokeshvara. At the sight of all the suffering of the world his head shattered into ten parts. His spiritual father Amida put them together, complemented by his own as top. Farben und Gold auf grundiertem Gewebe. Im Zentrum des Mandalapalastes steht der blaue Yidam Chakrasamvara mit vier Gesichtern und zwölf Armen in Umarmung mit der roten Dâkinî Vajravarahi in yab-yum. In konzentrischen Kreisen gruppieren sich weitere Dâkinî um das zentrale Paar. Der äußerste Ring ist eine Darstellung der Acht Leichenäcker. Im Zentrum oberhalb des Mandala vermutlich der transzendente Buddha Samantabhadra 80 x 58cm. Mit breitem Goldrahmen hinter Glas gerahmt. Zustand A/B. In concentric circles further Dâkinî gather around the central couple. The outer ring a depiction of the Eight Graveyards - characteristic for mandala of the protective deities.
