As a supporting program to the auction “The Kasper König Collection - His Private Choice”, VAN HAM hosted an exciting panel talk with gallery owner Johann König, son of Kasper König, in conjunction with an exclusive preview. Johann König gave a personal insight into the life and work of the famous curator and museum director Kasper König, who shaped the Rhenish art landscape like no other, especially during his many years as director of the Museum Ludwig in Cologne. Due to the great interest, a livestream was also offered, so that over 500 art lovers followed the talk in person or via YouTube. Afterwards, at the get-together with a champagne reception and a Cologne buffet, guests had the opportunity to commemorate Kasper König, who had recently passed away, in personal conversations. The subsequent auction raised around 6 million euros and became the most talked about auction of the year in the media.
