The addiction to the south. The love of Italy in 19th century art

6 May 2024

On May 6, Florian Illies delighted the audience at an exclusive preview of the Fine Art Auction with the panel talk “The Addiction to the South”, which focused on the love of Italy in 19th century art. Works such as Oswald Achenbach's “Feast of Santa Lucia in Naples” and Albert Flamm's “Southern Italian Farmstead” reflected this theme. Illies, known for his bestselling novels and his role as head of the feature section at the FAZ, made the evening a highlight of the season. VAN HAM regularly hosts events that promote interest in art and auctions.
