Art Nouveau glass captivates with its vivid shapes and fascinating colors. In recent years, VAN HAM has auctioned numerous pieces from important glass manufacturers. The most important representative was Émile Gallé, French designer and artisan of Art Nouveau and Art Deco, who specialized in the material glass and became internationally known with his designs for vases. Gallé was one of the founders of Art Nouveau.
The Schneider manufactory in Epagny-sur-Seine is also one of the most important glass manufactories of the Art Déco. The objects are characterized by their special color effect and versatility, which made the brothers Ernest and Charles Schneider world famous. The brothers' career began in the art glass manufactory Daum Frère in Nancy, which had a decisive influence on French Art Nouveau.
