Andy Warhol

Exciting Discoveries

The iconic "Flowers" motif is one of Warhol's best-known series of works. In such cases, the value of a remarkable provenance becomes apparent. Extensive library research revealed that the work was shown at Ileana Sonnabend's gallery in Paris in May 1965, as evidenced by the exhibition view. The exhibitions in Paris and at Leo Castelli in New York led to Warhol's international breakthrough as a Pop artist.
