From Abstract Expressionism to Color Field Painting and Pop Art: at the end of the Second World War, the avant-garde migrated from Europe to the USA, and New York was declared an art metropolis. "Made in America" takes up the diverse American art movements of the long 20th century. The offering is complemented by a selection of contemporary American positions.
A particular highlight of the auction is "Cupman": an iconic pictorial motif by the legendary New York artist Keith Haring, whose drawn figures such as dancing men, barking dogs or flying saucers went around the world. Haring's unmistakable, spontaneous style is considered the dynamic of the legendary art scene of the 1980s. The iconic motifs of Flowers and Queen by Andy Warhol, certainly the most famous representative of Pop Art, are also represented in the auction in various color variations. Pop Art quickly replaced the art world previously dominated by abstract expressionism and continues to enjoy great popularity.
